Orchestrator Agent

An orchestrator agent is an AI agent responsible for coordinating other agents in a multi-agent workflow, decomposing a high-level goal into sub-tasks, assigning them to specialist agents, managing dependencies between tasks, and aggregating results.

Orchestrators typically hold elevated permissions compared to the agents they direct, making their governance, identity, policy binding, and audit trail, especially critical.
