Quality Gate (AI)

A quality gate is an automated evaluation checkpoint that an AI agent's output must pass before it is delivered to an end user or triggers a downstream action.

Quality gates test outputs against criteria such as factual accuracy, format compliance, content policy, PII presence, and response completeness. Agents that fail a quality gate can be automatically retried, routed to a human reviewer, or have their output suppressed.
